At last, the trees are in blossom, the flowers are blooming, the skies are blue and the air is cool, but chance encounters with the warmth of the sun occasionally brighten the day. Although temperatures outside are warming, tempartures indoors have been falling as of the 15th of March when they shut off the radiators in the building across Beijing. With the arrival of spring also come the dust storms. As many days are pasty yellow as blue. I woke up on Monday to see the ground covered in what appeared to be light brown snow. Unfortuately, it wasn’t. Everyone spent the whole day sweeping so half the dust went back up into the air only to settle again the next day. Things are finally clearing up four days later but I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of the dust storms this year.
