So, who is MODOK?!?

I basically pulled the name Modok out of the ethers, so imagine my surprise when I found that I share a name with one of the most infamous supervillains of all time!

It turns out that M.O.D.O.K. has quite a following.

I’ve done my best to promote myself as + mODOk + and show up reasonably high on the search results for that term. If you came looking for M.O.D.O.K. I wouldn’t want you to leave empty handed!

So, here are some fun M.O.D.O.K. facts!

M.O.D.O.K. stands for:
Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing.

+ mODOk + on the other hand is:
Multiversal Organsim Designed for Organically Knowing

There have been three villians named MODOK.

In the comic books MODOK II first appears and years later is killed.

MODOK III is created last, dies, and later returns.

Finally, MODOK I is introduced 30 years later than the story in which MODOK II was introduced, but as the story takes place at an earlier time is considered to be the first MODOK.

There have even been some female variants of MODOK: Ms. MODOK (Dr. Katherine Waynesboro) and MODAM (Olinka Barankova).

A MODOC appeared in the Iron Man animated television series, under the serviture of the Mandarin, who promised to return him to his human form upon his domination of the world if he would serve as his scientific evil genious.
