The final destination of our Yangtze River cruise was the city of Yichang, a fairly small city, by Chinese standards, though the third largest city in Hubei. The airport was way out of town and the surroundings were quite rural. The airport itself was a cookie cutter version of the sleek airports going up all over China, with some local customization that made it a bit more unique. The most unique thing for my daughter, however, was the fact that there were cows grazing on the grounds! OK, oxen if you want to be precise, especially as the cutest little one she kept following around was obviously NOT a cow, as in female ox. As Blysse was born in the Chinese year of the ox, she has an affinity with them but since moving to the big city she hasn’t had a chance to see any up close and personal. Of course, it’s not like she had that many chances in Seattle or Salt Lake City either!
